Children's Pages - Visiting Author
Along the way, she asked the children to read out jokes e.g. what steps should you take to escape a lion…long, quick ones? She also told the children to put on some costumes and pretend to be a circus act. The children asked many different questions such as, how do you decide a setting and, do you enjoy writing books? Gill used to do backyard circuses when she was young so that inspired here to write the book, she used to charge the people who came to see it 25 cent. On
the 16th of November an author came to this school. Her name was
Jill Bryant and had brought in a book called Backyard Circus. She
read and acted her book to the year two children. The book was about
how to perform your own backyard circus.
