Children's Pages - Theatre Visit

News by Lucian and Brendan.

THURSDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2006

Today we had a visit from the CRAGRATS. The CRAGRATS are a drama company who were here to encourage children to eat healthy food. The actors were Donna, Gavin and Haley. The show started off with a group of three “kids”, one of which likes burgers, but the boy eats too many burgers and turns into one. The boy is finding it difficult to do school activities so his friends help him to turn back into a proper kid - hooray! It was very funny. Obesity is an important topic, but children can become grumpy, tired, lazy and unfit if they do not eat healthily. It was a good show, a bit like a pantomime. At the end there was a quiz which went over the main points.

At the end the beaver road news hounds gave an interview to the stars of the show.

Q. How long did it take you to know the script off by heart?
A. It took us about four days to rehearse the whole play

Q. What was your favourite part of the show?
A. Our favourite part was probably the audience joining in with the show

Q. How did you think up the music?
A. We just looked in the charts and had a look at the no.1 songs at the moment
