Children's Pages - Miniature Nativity - December 2008

Here is probably the smallest nativity in Didsbury, possibly in Manchester, possibly in the UK, possibly THE WORLD.

The nativity scene is tiny, as the pictures show, and the pig, for example is only 17millimetres high! You can also see that the trinity of Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus in his crib fit snugly into the palm of Megan's hand.

Megan, now in 6W, said "My mum helped me get the coloured tac from the internet. It was then a case of planning my nativity scene and gradually building it up. My idea was to have it fitting into a very small box. I am really happy how it all turned out."

Mr Ferguson, teaching assistant, said "For over a year I have admired Megan's ability to make tiny animals and people from blue tac. So, this year, I sneakily set her the challenge of making a small nativity in blue tac. You see before you the end result. It took my breath away the first time I saw it. It is a true work of art.

Megan now knows she has a few days rest before I set her her next blue tac challenge...and Beaver Road can be truly proud of Manchester's youngest blue tac sculptor.
