One of our teaching assistants is involved in a charity, Tacade, which provides materials to schools to help youngsters lead cleaner, safer, more secure lives. At a recent anniversary function at the House of Lords, Brian had the privilege of meeting another local man, Darren Campbell, who won an Olympic gold medal in the 4 X 100 metre relay. The picture shows them admiring Darren's actual gold medal....Mr Ferguson is the one on the left!

Darren himself is now heading a Sports related organisation promoting sports to young people nationally. With the Beijing Olympics fast approaching this year, and the London Olympics in four years' time, Darren's role in motivating all young people is essential. Brian's view is that Darren is a thoroughly decent and down to earth man...in other words, a typical Mancunian!

Yoga class

In yoga class Tom and Olivia in year three did some hard poses. For example the tree and the shoulder stand. Soon the children can do harder poses. They have been doing yoga for three or four weeks now.

Mrs Ferguson thinks it’s good for the kids and they are learning to be more flexible. The kids think it’s fun to learn yoga. The children are in years three and four. Later in yoga they will be doing harder things like head stands and hand stands.

There are about 20 children doing yoga.
