Learning Day-by-DayA miscellany of news and children's work... Year 4 - Invaders and Settlers The Autumn term topic for Year 4 was 'Invaders and Settlers'. During the course of the topic, children produced some wonderful work using a variety of mediums which helped to support their learning journey as the weeks unfolded. The photographs show how the children used model magic to create Anglo-Saxon style jewellery and artefacts. They made models of Viking longships and gained an understanding of how the Romans used wax tablets and a stylus to scribe, through writing their name on a clay tablet. The 'exit point' of the topic was a march around the school and a Roman tortoise formation display (which we learnt about on the trip to Chester) using shields that the children had made at home. The shields were of a VERY high standard and the Year 4 team would like to thank the children for their hard work. We'd like to extend our thanks to everyone at home who helped to produce such magnificent shields and it was wonderful to see so many parents, grandparents, siblings and carers at the exit point performance. Thank you for your continued support.
