Didsbury Festival Beaver Road parade

I was very lucky to take part in the Didsbury Festival Beaver Road parade this year. Beaver Road children impressed the village so much with their Jungle Book themed parade that they won the cup! The energy, enthusiasm and high spirits of children and their families was fantastic even in the rain! Miss Downey x

RD in the Four Seasons Garden

RD learned about nature in action as we released our class butterfly that 'Excellent Elena' brought in from home. We discussed and watched carefully as the cocoon turned into a butterfly. RD gave our class butterfly named 'Holly' a great send off by singing to her and encouraging her to flutter her wings for the first time. Our friends the hedgehog, duck and ducklings came to watch! What a lovely day in the Four Seasons Garden!

Reception Minibeast Musical

Reception made their teachers and parents proud as they shone like little stars, entertaining us with their stage performances, costumes and singing! You have been a delightful year group, well done all you little minibeasts!

2N Structures

In 2N we became designers for the day and created our own bridge structures. We worked in small groups and started by designing the shape of our bridge. We then worked out which materials we would need and how much it would cost. We had £2 to spend in total at 'Beaver Supplies.'

Our challenge was then to take the materials we had bought and build a bridge strong enough to hold a toy car for 10 seconds. Have a look at our finished bridges. Which ones do you think would hold the toy car?

2012 LONDON
OLYMPIC TOUR

Year 2: Chestnut Centre

Year 2 visited the Chestnut Centre. We had lots of fun learning about owls, deer, foxes and otters.
There were so many different owls! Can you remember all their names?
We tried to spot some badgers and rabbits but they must have been a sleep or hiding from the rain!
