On Thursday 27th
February, 7 budding netballers from the Beaver Road Netball
team travelled to Wythenshawe to play in the South
Manchester league finals. The girls battled hard and fought
off their rivals, with a 4-2 victory against St. Anthony’s,
a 7 -0 victory against SS John Fisher and Thomas More and
finally a victory of 4 -0 against our local school Ladybarn.
Our final match was
against Sandilands, which was to see which school would be
the champions. The girls battled hard and at the very last
minute the winning goal was scored by Demi of 6. A final
victory of 2-1 settled the deal.
The girls celebrated
their triumphant victory as the best Netball Team in South
Manchester and a selection of the squad will be going to
play in the City Wide finals which will be held on the 25th
March at the Amaechi Centre. |
