Learning@Home

Whilst our Year 3 children are learning at home we want to ensure children continue to be engaged, motivated and excited to learn.

Every morning children will start the day with a welcome message from a member of the Year 3 team. In this video we discuss learning for the day and any other exciting events which are happenning that day. Reading is a focus in Year 3 and so each week we will be focusing on a chapter from our class novel The Wild Way Home. This will be followed by daily questions focussing on vocabulary, retreival and inference skills. Children will also have the opportunity to choose a book from Bug Club to read indepedently and listen to a story read by one of the team.

Teachers will be uploading to Seesaw three lessons every day which include slides, task and a video link to a teacher explaining the lesson and teaching any key skills for that lesson. These will be available the day prior from 6pm. Throughout the day teachers will be giving feedback and praise to work which is uploaded to Seesaw and at the end of the week will choose 1 member of Year 3 for our Celebration Assembly. Further to this we offer two weekly live Zoom sessions led by a Year 3 teacher. These fun filled sessions give children the opportunity to chat, play games, share learning and news.

Every half term a new Home Learning Grid is added to the website. These half termly learning grids should provide opportunities for your child to extend their curriculum learning to other areas of research. We encourage the children to bring in the work they have done within the half term so it can be shared and celebrated with the class.
